New Transfers And New Beginnings

Hey everyone,

The crazy thing about transfers in the mission is that they involve a lot
of prayer and contemplation. The Mission President wants to be sure that
everyone is serving where the Lord wants them to be. SO, for some reason
that I still dont really know, I am still in Morganton, NC. I am so excited
that I get to stay a little longer! I love it here. The other very strange
part of transfers was that my companion got moved! Yes, the same companion
that I just got last tranfer has already been moved away. Even stranger is
that he got moved to an area that he already served in about a year ago! So
very strange.

My new companion is Elder Bevans, and we are both actually pretty similar
in so many ways! He seems a little shy, but if any ward can change that,
its this ward. I’m excited to continue to work with these amzing people
that I’ve grown to love and work with here. I hope I never leave.

Earlier last week we got to do some service for a member who’s gutting an
old house. This week he gave us a bunch of sledge hammers and he let us
smash this big ole piano he had in the front room. It was so much fun! We
all took turns just busting that thing to peices. I love doing service,
haha.

We also had a couple amazing days to start off the new transfer. I got to
introduce my new companion to the awesome experience that it is to teach
James, our deaf recent convert. My poor companion was so confused the whole
time, haha. He’ll get the hang of it. I’m trying to teach him some simple
signs he can use to participate in the conversation.

Overall, things are still moving along here in Morganton. We have taken a
drive around the area to assess the damage that the hurricane did to the
area. The results where… unexpected. I will attach a picture below.

Oh, ad yesterday we got to go with a couple of our recent converts to
attend a fireside that our Mission President put on nearby, and it was
incredible. On the ride up, one of our converts mentioned a concern he had
about the church, and when we got there President Adler threw way his notes
and said that the spirit is telling him to speak on something other than
what he had planned. He proceeded to speak directly on what our friend was
talking about on the ride over there! It was incredible and the spirit was
so strong! The Lord is aware of us always and knows exactly what we need!

I hope y’all have an incredible week ahead!

Until Next Week,
Elder Klingler
