Choose Everyday To Have Joy

Hey Everybody!

This week has been pretty normal, with not a lot of story to tell. We had our final District Meeting of the transfer and had an absolute blast taking pictures afterward. I’m going to miss our little group a ton!

This week is transfer week and, before we got news of where everyone would go, we made predictions of where everyone would be going. We were all pretty sure that I would be leaving, and my companion (since he’s old) would be training and end his mission in this area. Well, we got a call from our mission president and we were told that I am going to be staying here in Morganton, while my companion is being moved again so soon! But he’s going back to an old area that he served in once before, so he’s really excited! I don’t really know anything about my new companion, so I’m excited to get to know him!

OH, one other amazing thing happened this week. Our mission President always says “choose everyday to have Joy” and on Friday I decided to actually apply it. It ended up being the greatest day of all time. We had a bunch of great contacts, but the best part was at a local event in the evening. We were walking around and I noticed a man that looked me in the eyes but didn’t say anything, so I called out to him. He didn’t respond, but he looked as though he wanted to. For some reason that was enough in my head to assume that he must be deaf (must be the spirit) so I started signing to him and immediately he perked up, walked over to us, and we ended up having an incredible (and lengthy) conversation with him. He gave us his address and wants us to go visit him next week! That was the perfect end to an already great day!

Today my companion, Elder Debenham, and I decided to make the most out of our remaining time together and we went on a hike up in the mountains and went to a legendary burger place called Come Back Shack. It’s been such an amazing and fun transfer. I’m going to miss him.

I hope everything goes well for y’all this week!

Until Next Time,
Elder Klingler
