Busy, Tired, and Motivated

Hey Everybody!

This week wasn’t too crazy, which was nice. That means that we had more time to work in our area and less time driving all over for meetings and exchanges. I felt really exhausted last night which is a good sign. It’s been a little while since I’ve really felt exhausted at the end of the week.

We did have district council though, which was really fun! I love my current district. Everyone is very unique in their own way and it makes for
some great meetings!

This week my companion and I discovered (with some encouragement from our area seventy Elder Stanfill) a really great talk titled “Be 100 Percent Responsible” by Lynn G. Robins. In his talk he tells many stories and gives some great counsel all about how “complete and total agency comes with complete and total responsibility”. The Adversary will almost always attack one of these two things if not both. He goes on to list the many things that Satan tempts us to say or do to avoid being responsible, such as blaming others, rationalizing our mistakes, making excuses, hiding, covering up, fleeing, denying or lying, complaining, doubting, quitting, indicision, procrastination, fear, and so on. He reminds us of how much control we have when we take 100% resonsibility for our choices, even if failure is not our fault. Ever since reading this talk my companion and I have been highly aware of our actions and have been keeping each other accountable to being 100% responsible for our success. You would think that a successful companionship is where each companion has 50% of the responsibility, but really you both need to be taking 100% of the responsibility. Often times, doing those things that help us escape responsibility only make it harder for us to repent and receive the Heavenly help we so often need in our lives.

The Gospel is true. Our Father in Heaven loves us all and wants us to be better, stronger, and happier. He gives us trials and hard times solely to help us grow. I know he wants us all to improve, change, and repent so we can draw closer to him. I love being out here because I get to be hands-on in helping our Father accomplish this work.

I love you all and hope you have an amazing week ahead!

Until next week,
Elder Klingler

Picture: This is from our Christmas Conference back in December. We were able to reunite our whole group (or whats left of it) that came out together from the MTC. It was the first time we’ve all been together and it is also the last time we will see each other before our sisters all go home at the end of this month. It was super great to get everyone back together, even for a few minutes!
