SNOW!

Hey Everybody!

Sorry I didnt write less. This is beginning to become a habit, haha. I will try harder to write each week. These last two weeks have been so packed full of events, it’s going to hard to capture it all, but here we go.

Last week we had Interviews with our Mission President, and that was a full-day ordeal, but it was a lot of fun! I really like President Adler. It was a hard adjustment to having a new Mission President, but he has really grown on me a lot. He gave us a new method of how to go about finding new people to teach and it’s brilliant.

Our zone all got together to sing at a big Christmas devotional last Saturday and we had a lot of fun! I was part of a missionary quartet and it was a blast! They also had about a hundred nativities set up from around the world. I especially liked the ones from Italy because they put so much detail into their work.

Last Sunday we got invited to go out with a bunch of members and go caroling around their neighborhood, which was so much fun! We got to meet a lot of their neighbors and introduce ourselves to them, so that was good!

This week was so busy. On Thursday we found two new people to teach, which never happens, and they even asked if they could come to church with us on
Sunday! We’ve just had so many lessons and miracles this week, and it’s getting hard to keep everything straight.

On Saturday we had a really great day and even got some great photos while we were out. We got in early though because it started snowing! It snowed
all the night long, and when we woke up on Sunday morning we had a winter wonderland outside our window!

Unfortunately, that also meant that they cancelled church since it wasnt safe to be out driving. The town of Morganton only has one snow plow and we didnt see it clear the road by our aparment until about 9pm. We tried to stay productive while we were inside, but we took breaks to enjoy the snow as well.

Currently it’s raining, and has been all night so some of the snow has melted away. We figured it would be all melted and gone, but instead of melting the snow, the rain has just turned it all into slush. So we still cant drive since our parking lot is covered in 6 inches of thick slush. Hopefully it melts away soon!

This week I have been so greatful for the many challenges the Lord has given me so far on my mission. I have seen myself change and grow in ways that I didnt expect. The Lord really does give us challenges to help us grow. I believed that, but now I know it to be true. When we are in our lowest places, we seem to grow the most; if we choose to. I’m going to finish with a quote I read this week that might just be my new favorite quote.

“We are all broken, that’s how the light gets in” – Hemingway

Love y’all! Have a good week!
