Thanksgiving!

Hey Everybody!

This week was quite eventful, but I’m going to focus on the latter half of the week.

We finally had a District Council and it was fantastic! We have the greatest group of missionaries now and it is going to make for an amazing transfer! All of the missionaries I’m with currently I’ve served with before in my prior areas, so it’s like a big reunion!

Then of course, Thanksgiving was this Thursday! We had such a great time! We burried every bit of homesickness under many plates of delicious food at the homes of two of the greatest families I’ve met out here. It really felt like home, which was nice.

At church we had an few incredible talks. One in particular really stood out to me. The Young Men’s President talked about Joy, and how it connects with Gratitude. He said that too often “we think joy leads to gratitude, but rather it is gratitude that leads to joy”. We tend to only be thankful for the things that bring us joy, but when we keep an attitude of gratitude we tend to be happier all around. I hope y’all remember to always express your gratittude for all your many blessings, even though Thanksgiving has passed!

Also, my companion and I started listening to Christmas music this week. Turns out that that is also a great source of Joy, haha.

I love you all, and hope that this week is greater than the last!

2. My companion keeps trying to take pictures when I’m not looking but I turned just in time for this one
3. We did service at a big Food Distribution for the homeless in town and it was a lot of fun!
