Happy New Year!
Hey Everyone!
This week has been pretty exciting! The highlight of my week was obviously being able to video chat with my family on Christmas day, which was so much fun! I love my family so much, and I am excited to eventually be home with them again. Until then, however, I have much work to do!
This week did a good job of reminding me why I am here. My companion and I were able to go and try to visit a deaf man I had met over the summer and he was actually home! We chatted with him for a little bit and invited him to church, and he came the next day! It was so exciting to see him there! To make it better, it was the last day for one of our interpreters at church because she is going to college, so a bunch of the other deaf members came to see her off and they just surrounded our friend and made him feel so welcome! He made sure he knew what time to come next week, and even said that he wants to come to our Book of Mormon class we hold on Wednesdays! So exciting!
This week I’ve been focussing on a quote by Elder Uchtdorf which says that “Charity is the defining attribute of a Disciple of Christ”. When you think about it, that really is the greatest thing we can develop, a spirit of charity! It has part in every aspect of our jobs as his Disciples. Nothing will soften hearts quicker, welcome the spirit more openly, help you grow more, or put a smile on your face faster than doing acts of charity, just as Christ did!
I love you all and wish y’all a happy New Year!
