Merry Christmas!!!
Hey Everybody!
As you probably heard, we had transfers last week and I found out that I am going to be staying here in Morganton for another transfer! In case you’ve lost count (like I did) this will be my 6th transfer in a row here, and I wouldnt want it any other way! I absolutely love it here and am honored that I get to stay for another 6 weeks. I am also thrilled because so many of the people we have been working with are all so close to making the covenant of Baptism with their Father in Heaven.
Unfortunately, they did transfer my companion Elder Bevans, and it was hard to see him go. He isn’t used to moving around yet, so it was pretty rough for him too, but he’s doing well in his new area. I picked up my new companion, Elder McFadden, and he is so much fun! He’s super easy to get along with, and we both love to talk and tell stories so this should be a really fun transfer!
Most of all, my thoughts are directed forward to tomorrow, Christmas, the day that we celebrate the birth of the Savior of the World. I was reading in a talk from 2009 by Elder Uchtdorf called The Love of God. In his talk he reminds us how we need to love God with all of our hearts; he also reminds us of the inmeasurable amount of love that our Father in Heaven has for each of us. I know that that is what we truely celebrate this time of year. The fact that God loved us so much that he sent us his only begotten
Son to be our Savior and Redeemer. I want to recommend to each of you, just as Elder Uchtdorf does in his talk, to go out and spread that love. Go be an example of your faith and express your love for God through your actions and interactions with others. That is what Christmas is about.
I love you all, and I sincerely hope that all of you have a wonderful Christmas among friends and family.
Until next week,
Elder Klingler
