The Appalachian Mountains

Hey Everyone,

This week has been a bit of a whirlwind. I feel like I’ve been saying that a lot recently. Things just don’t ever seem to slow down here on the mission, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
This week I took a stab at interpreting for the deaf members for the first time during church and it went a lot better than I expected! Luckily they were very patient with me and helped me when I struggled to remember certain signs.
We had to take a trip down the Charlotte earlier this week and it felt really wierd to drive through one of my old areas since I used to serve in Charlotte. It was fun though because my companion has been up here in the mountains for his whole mission so far, so I got to show him around the city a little bit.
On Wednesday we also got to drive up to Boone for a meeting, which was way up in the Appalachian mountains, and it was just so incredibly green up there and we got some incredible views on the way up. It was probably the most beautiful drive I’ve ever taken. The meeting was good too.
I’ve been studying charity a lot recently and I cannot stress enough how meaningful it could be to someone if you take the time to do even the smallest act of charity for them. Call someone you’ve been thinking about and ask how they’re doing, make a card for someone that helped you recently, just take 5 minutes to do something selfless for someone else. I promise you won’t regret it!
Love yall, I hope yall have an incredible week!

1. The drive to Boone was so green!
2. The morning drive was a little foggy though
3. Our little excursion to Charlotte was really fun, and I showed Elder Hyer this photo spot
4. We may be up in the mountains, but it feels more like a rainforest with almost nightly thunder storms, look at this lightning strike we caught on camera one night while driving home!
