A Whole Week Of Crazy

This week had been absolutely crazy! I feel like this week has just flown by! So much has happened! Where to start?

My district is full of super fun and amazing people! We've all been growing closer and closer as a group. We had a district picnic the other day outside because a few of us had a bunch of food from care packages so we all took our food outside and set up on the grass, that is until the sprinklers turned on and we quickly relocated to the nearby tables.
This Saturday our whole floor had a Tie Swap. Everyone went out into the hall with a tie they didnt feel too attached to and drew a number from a box. Thenwe went one number at a time and everyone traded ties with the other Elder with the same number as you. The really cool part was that everyone has to sign the back of their ties before they hand it off and some ties had gone through more than 10 Elders! Some Elders purposely had some pretty ugly ties because the unwritten rule is that you have to wear your new tie to church the next day!
This week church went by even faster than last week. We had all kinds of super cool things to do all day long including multiple devotionals. We didnt have anyone from our Branch Presidency in our room to teach us for one of the hours so we just went around the room and everyone had a pretty cool discussion about why they decided to go on a mission and what it took for us to get to where we are today, it was a really cool opportunity for us all to bond much closer together.
Later that evening we were sitting in a room with 300 missionaries waiting for a video of Elder Holland to start. The video was having problems and as we all sat there in the dark waiting for it to start, everyone suddenly began singing "A Child's Prayer" which was a seriously cool experience as that evolved from hymn to hymn until the video suddenly turned on as we were in the middle of singing "Called To Serve". I felt the spirit really strongly that night.
We've been teaching folk all week long and it has not been easy. Everyone has their own story, and it is so interesting to see how different every person's circumstances are. We taught a woman from Nigeria, a man that belongs to the church of scientology, and an older gentleman that is just full of stories. It's so cool to see how differently the Gospel effects each and every person.
